PMG Services Named a Finalist in Bristol Business Awards

PMG’s significant contribution to protecting the environment has been recognised in this year’s Bristol Business Awards.

Our multi-million-pound specialist waste management plant in Bristol processes 18,000 tons of road sweeping and gully tanker waste. 100% of all materials are recycled with nothing going to landfill. We are one of very few companies in the UK to meet the Environment Agency’s approved quality protocol for end of waste criteria which means we can sell our sand and aggregate for re-use by construction companies in applications including pipe bedding and road building.

All of the organic material goes for onwards treatment where it is mixed with sewage sludge to make Non-Pas 100 compost. Oversize material and litter is sent on to a company who turns it into refuse derived fuel (RDF) which is used for power generation.

We are one of four companies shortlisted for the Environmental Business Award and will find out who will lift the trophy at an awards dinner at Ashton Gate in Bristol on 29 June.

PMG Services Fleet on the Move

We’ve opened a new 1.7 acre transport yard in St. Philips, Bristol.

Our Albert Road depot has become a bit congested since the installation of our waste recycling plant, so it made sense for us to separate the waste management and transport operations of the business.

So we’ve invested in a new yard just a few minutes down the road where all of our vehicles will now be based making everyone’s lives a lot easier. Over the past week we’ve moved our 35 sweepers, 6 tankers and other assorted vehicles to their new home which was the former Sita site in Cole Road.

Commented operations manager Stuart Knight: “As our recycling business has grown the number of vehicle movements in and out of the Albert Road facility meant that we were experiencing heavy congestion. It made sense to invest in a second yard for our own growing fleet of vehicles to give both operations more space and I know our own drivers are pleased for the extra space”.
